I Drive: You're mom and sister wild...at the same time

My Project: Getting enough money for an M3
poomaster requested a pic of my car, since so much trash has been talked about it. I bought it two years ago, when I thought I would like an automatic sports car, which I have now found is incorrect. Before I even had the opportunity to register her, the upper gear drive belt (whoever thought mating 230hp and 225ft-lbs to a belt driven auto to 4WD was a f*cking retard) went out. $2k later, she was driving with a completely rebuilt trans, and a new alternator (which died while they were rebuilding the trans). Since then I've been so busy fixing shit that has broken on it, I haven't really modded it at all. The filter was bad, so I put a green cone on it. The MAF went out, so I got a used OEM replacement. Put Bosch OEM replacement plugs in. Put cross drilled front brakes on. That's about it for permanent mods. I put a nice stereo in about three months after I put the trans in. Started with an Alpine 9827 (old model, but got a great deal on it - new), added a kicker 4 gauge 4 channel amp kit (I love kicker power wire...mmmmmm). Then my Kicker SS components (5.25", I decided to not try to fit the 6.5" in) and KS 6x9"s came in. I was happy with that for a few months, but ended up buying a 12" Kicker L7 six months later, and an Audiobahn A8001T to power it. Had to make a custom box, because the Subie's trunk is 13" tall (and the sub was 13.5" edge to edge...thanks subie). Now I wish I had put dynamat on everything, because I don't hear bass, but my car disassembling itself. Now for the pics.

And what I want to replace the SVX with (much more reliable and cheap to fix beater)

Nice pics, Ive always had a strange attraction to those SVXs. That side profile is hard to mistake for anything else.

Loud. Tight. Sweet. But you have to overpower all kicker subs, if you underpower them, they are sloppy as hell. If you make it to a bikenite in spokane before sun shines for good, I'll let you listen to it disassemble the rear half (getting farther forward) of my car.

I'm gonna try to make it to a bike night soon, but If I have time to drive to Spocompton I've got time to work on the bike sooo. If the weathers too cold for me to be comfortable working in the shop, I'ld make it, if it is comfortable, right now the bikes quickly becoming the priority. Not gonna be down for 2 seasons damn it.

I had a L7 in my Z, a 10, and it was a heart pounder, took up less space, sounded great.

Nice car! I really like those SVXs.

For how much you put into the tranny, couldn't you have gone down to that Subaru shop in Tacoma and have them do a WRX manual tranny swap for you? That would be my goal if I was to ever buy a SVX...

It's about $4k anywhere you go for the tranny swap. (Assuming you have them install it.) It took $2k for the new auto. I always said the same thing, but when you don't even have $2k in the bank - spending double isn't an option.
