That 302 sounds like it will be nice, but why not buy a SC for it while you're at it? Supercharged Fastback....MMMMM

My roommate's dad has a 66 with a 289 bored 30 over and every other bolt on imaginable, sweet car. I don't have a build list, but should get one from him, hell I should get him on here.

Have a good one too Dan, we'll have to race at FNSR for shits and giggles this summer :) I plan on actually putting some time and $$$ back into the cavvy. I think currently my best time was 15.5 @ PR but that was with the stock 14" all seasons and 2.6 60' times haha :P Last time we had a motor in the willies, it had a slight wheelie problem LOL.

it's easy to work on, just a matter of $$$ and garage space. It's a 42 willies flat fender jeep, lowered. RWD with a daina (spelling) rear end. Setup for chevy small block :) It likes to wheelie :P

Was thinking of selling it, but couldn't get what I wanted out of it so now I figure to add some boost :)

Yeah I had that in mind, easy room for improvement there. Checkin it out, my girls car, 02 Grand Am has the 2.2 in it. Things are pretty ballsy stock. From a light I have a tough time pulling on her car, I can get the jump on her cause I have a 5spd but as soon as I shift to second she pretty much hangs right where she is, about 2-2.5 car lengths back. If I screw up shifting she can close that gap really easily. I could imagine that engine in a lighter car could get going pretty damn fast with boost.

Ya they are pretty quick for what they are. GM has really backed up that 4cyl motor with the NHRA teams making huge hp with it. Most of the stock j-bodies are running high 15's manual or automatic (such a flat torque curve it only makes a few tenths of a second difference) Having the car already setup to support the supercharger, on a day with descent traction (running sport tires of coarse) most people are high 13's low 14's. I really want to do brake upgrade, LSD and a new clutch and hit some track days because I'm more into that sort of thing hehe :) I may also do the stage II GM cobalt upgrade as well, al though I would have to switch to HPtuners EMS completely. Right now HPtuners is not compatible with the GM ECU reflash so I would have to do one or the other hmm....

Doesnt GM offer factory built drag Cobalts? starting at a lil over 30K is what I think I read. Or was that just an idea they had.

around 30k bux in the Cobalt SS, its a 2.0 supercharged ecotec. There is a 2.4vvti ecotec and a 2.0 turbo charged ecotec running around from gm :) All of which is compatable parts except most the cars other then j-bodies a different ecu setup :P

Josh, the HP tunner does or doesnt suuport the 2.2, we are currently tunning with it and love it on the all the LS based engines. I will do some checking i am interested in tunning the cavy if we can.

hp tuner does support the 2.2 ecotec cavvy however does not support the reflash GM supercharger programming. So I would have a choice of either tuning from scratch or just running the GM reflash
