I Drive: You're mom and sister wild...at the same time

My Project: Getting enough money for an M3
Earlier this year the Porsche Club of America invaded Jantzen Beach with their annual Porsche Parade. Every hotel on the island and most the hotels in nearby Vancouver were chock full 'o Porsches. My dad, the ultimate traveler, lives in Baltimore, MD, and drove all the way out. Two weeks beforehand I flew out to Baltimore to drive a few days with him (2, actually) until we got to Denver, so I could see family. He proceeded into Cali and drove up the Coast to Portland - fun for him...I was at work. But before I got to work, I found my bike was stolen...YAY!, not. This pissed me off b/c I was scheduled to ride out to Portland in a few days to meet my dad at the Parade and check out the "good life." Daves929 (a friend from another forum - pnwriders.) went above the call of duty and loaned me his 01 FZ1 which proved to be a much better road trip bike, if only it gave me some wind protection. Hey, I can't complain, my back didn't hurt. Cpt.Coroles (Mark) joined me on his ZZR600. Now for the pics!!!

Leaving Cheney at about 8am - Checking tire pressure.

Next Stop: Ritzville (in about 30 mins of riding). To those who think that's early...you're right, we just really wanted breakfast.

Made it to the Dri-Shities for another Gas stop, not needed, but first road trip on bikes unfamiliar to us, rather be safe than sorry on gas.

Forgot to take a picture at the Dalles, our next and final gas stop...my bad.

We stopped by the Parade, but nothing goin on. Next day we went to Mt. St. Helens. Here's mark riding beside my dad and I on the imfamous I5.

Some Scenic Shots Of St Helens...oh, and Vehicles

Mark being a Squid to Get out of Picture

At the observatory

Next Day we went to the AutoX at PIR

Later We hit PIR's Beaches Drags on Weds nights. Nice car show, 1/8mi drags. Mildly impressed my bike turnout. New 999r was there, a few race bikes, but not very impressed by riders doing the 1/8th. Wish Mike (Speed_Demon) or Jason (mcjunky) were there to eat up some busas on their (slightly) smaller bikes. A Guy on a 12R f'ed up his launch, so tried to make it look like he had too much power and wheelied (after great distress) for about 15 feet. I know that bikes faster than they were pushing, but they clearly thought they were top chit, completely ignoring Mark and I. I didn't catch a pic, but a ski-doo 750cc two stroke put down like a 8.5 1/8th. Stupid fast. My dad's car won a people's choice award of sorts, got a whole interview and all on tape, on my dad's old-ass camcorder I can't connect to my PC. Nothing huge, but a good time. He won a trophy with a '56 Chevy on it (Dub Edition) and a T-shirt.

This guy with a 2 month old bone stock bike won an award as well

This Bug got a serious Performance increase by being powered by a Honda cruiser motor and losing its front end. Pics don't show how cleanly done it was, I expected a low-grade hack-job.

Am I huge or is thic car tiny?

Answer:both

My dad and Mark in front of all the mini dragsters

Badazz Ruf gets no love from judges for show...HAHA

Monster Tires on that guy

Very nice 996 Turbo

NSX - need I say more?

Pantera - need I say more to this either?

And a parting Shot - headed home, gassing up at the Dalles.

That orange gt2 is sick. Also that 295 rear tire is awful wide. I'm sure it would suck in snow. Even worse was the 345/20 i saw on a murcelago at the Exotic car show a few months back. Pictures sometime soon.
