So since I'm betting most of you probably all of you don't know the whole story of my old red eclipse I figured I'd post it up since it should make for an interesting read. In the begining I bought a red 94 GS eclipse when I was 18....it was sloooow but I was proud of it, I drove the piss out of it and the motor eventually crankwalked when I was 20 so I had a decent chunk of money in the bank to play with so I decided to make it bigger and better. I got the old 6-bolt block from dylans old talon (it had been taken out when he shattered a valve and it had swapped hands a few times) Had it bored .5mm over and threw some 2g pistons in it on 1g big rods. Had the entire thing balanced and blueprinted. ARP rod bolts and head studs. Threw on a 90 head with turbo cams and called that good as far as a motor went. Put a 56 trim pte turbo on it with a indy race cores race front mount, pte 780cc injectors, walbro 255 fuel pump, aeromotive AFPR, HKS SSQV BoV, bp6es spark plugs, nitrous works wet nitrous kit jetted for 100hp shot, MAFT setup as a blow thru. Fidanze flywheel, 4-puck un-sprung clutch disc, ACT 2900. AC/heater was removed and boost/oil/egt gauges were where the stock hvac controls had been. Had the stock NT exhaust on it for a while then had a 3 inch made for it locally. Car did good at the track, one night when I was there I met a kid driving a 2g GST with no rear bumper and a messed up front bumper, kid said his car ran 11's so I tried to get him to race for money but he said he did'nt have any cash on him, raced him for fun and beat him by a few bus lengths. A couple months later I decided to sell the car and get married, when the kid found out that I was selling the car he told me he would buy it after a lot of jerking me around the deal that we ended up coming to was that he would give me his 2g, $750 and pay for the back bumper that he had for the car to be painted. Well after we traded cars but before he had given me the $ he took my red car to downtown cda and sprayed the nitrous on pump gas and blew a headgasket (not too bad of a thing, I even had a spare HG at home cause I had been expecting to blow it and never had.) but then he decided to drive the car home from downtown cda to rathdrum and severely over heated the engine. Then he decided to try and change the headgasket by himself, bought 7-bolt ARP's even after i told him the car already had them. He screwed up the timing belt tension and ended up driving the car a few miles before it slipped off and ate the valves. Couple days later the kid called me and had decided he wanted to trade cars back now that he had broken it. I told him hell no, he told me he was going to sue, so I told him I'd call his PO and tell him about the weed I'd seen the kid smoke at his house, kid hung up and I did'nt hear anything else for a while. 8 months later after the kid was off probation I got a certified letter in the mail from idaho court system informing me that I was being sued in small claims court. Went there and it was the kids mom sueing me and wanting me to pay for the cost of repairs to the car, at this time I got to see all the reciepts from fixing the car and hear the story of what had happened after the kid hung up the phone, and also got to read the afidavit that steve cobb wrote. Apparently after the timing belt incident they took the car to F2unning to have it repaired, they were told that the entire motor needed to be replaced and paid 6k for a new stock engine to be built for it (can't remember if it was with 2g pistons or not) kid took the car for a test drive and the flywheel came off and ate the tranny and took out brake lines and radiator hoses etc. I was blamed for the flywheel coming off by F2unning even though in order for a new motor to be put in the car the flywheel would have had to have come off. Also in the afidavit it was said that if the nitrous in the car had been used then the car would have exploded most likely killing anyone in it. (The nitrous in the car was used for over 100 passes and the kid used it when he blew the HG) Apparently F2unning did'nt grasp the fact that the nitrous had a 2 switches on it, one off a wot sensor and one off the AC button in the HVAC console. All in all the judge ruled that the kid and his mom were dumb and bought a racecar as is and that I was in no way liable and laughed at them. T

think the kids name was brandon or something like that, moms name was chris and she worked at the ghetto little burger place. Kid said she owned it but I doubt that. T

WOw, this is why in EVERY bill of sale, you state the date AND TIME. And you say "car sold AS-IS condition" on blank time at blank date." Glad to see the judge saw the whole story.

He lives with some of my buddies from UI over in Bellevue and is currently driving a sweet audi s4 twin turbo manual. It's not the fastest thing but quite nice for a performance luxury sedan.
